Uni Boston | THE Eliot hotel

When James Beard Award-winning Chef Ken Oringer expanded UNI into The Eliot Hotel’s full dining space, he reached out to commission a custom entrance mural. Drawing inspiration from Tokyo’s mysterious izakayas and UNI’s vibrant culinary style, we developed a striking visual concept: a swarm of moray eels weaving beneath water lettuce on a heavily rusted patina. UNI's signature dishes inspired the rich green and yellow color palette, while metallic accents caught subtle ambient light reflections, representative of the glistening, upscale dishes.

A few years later I was asked to paint a larger more legible sign and tie in the water lettuce element.
Application of the UNI logo was a hand pulled silk screen by Jay at Anti Designs.
